Description
A lot of tortilla chips you buy in the shops either contain gluten or milk powder or are made in a factory that handle those goods. I decided to have a go at making my own and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was.
Ingredients
- 115g masa harina/cornflour
- 55ml water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Method
- Place the flour and salt into a large bowl and gradually add the water
- Mix to form a ball
- Divide into four and roll out until thin
- Cook for about 1 minute each side in a hot pan
- Divide the corn tortillas into 8 triangles
- Place a small pan of oil, about 1cm deep, on a high heat
- Add the tortillas in for about 1 minute
- Remove from the oil and dust with either salt or paprika
