This recipe would make a perfect dish for brunch. I make a lot of pancakes but 99% of the time I always pick a sweet recipe. These savoury pancakes are light and fluffy with a little hint of chilli. The avocado and bacon are the perfect toppings for these pancakes.




For the savoury pancakes:

  • 125g gluten free plain flour
  • 240ml dairy free milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon dairy free cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • salt and pepper for seasoning

For the topping:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • salt and pepper for seasoning
  • sprinkle of dried chilli flakes
  • 8 slices of bacon


  1. Make the savoury pancakes by mixing together the flour, milk, eggs, chives, cream cheese, chilli and parsley
  2. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Heat a shallow pan with a drizzle of olive oil over a medium heat
  4. Add a tablespoon of the pancake mixture and cook for a couple of minutes on each side
  5. Fry the bacon until crisp
  6. Mash the avocado with the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper
  7. Top the pancakes with the avocado and bacon
  8. Sprinkle on a couple of dried chilli flakes
