Chinese Pork and Onion Dumplings

For the dumpling wrappers:

  • 128 g gluten free plain flour
  • 105 ml water
  • salt and pepper for seasoning

For the filling:

  • 100 g pork mince
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 1/2 small onion finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon gluten free soy sauce


  • To make the wrappers mix the flour, seasoning and water together to form a smooth dough
  • Cover with clingfilm and leave to rest for 10 minutes
  • Divide into 5 balls then roll out into 3 inch diameter circles
  • In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients for the filling
  • Place small amounts of the filling mixture into the centre of each wrapper
  • Wet the edges with a drop of water and fold in half to form a crescent shape
  • Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil
  • Place the dumplings in the pan and cook for 15 minutes
  • Drain the water and either serve as is or gently fry in a little olive oil for a crispy dumpling
  • Serve with your favourite dipping sauce
