Hello
I love it when you stumble across a local cafe that is an absolute gem for gluten and dairy free. I was babysitting my niece the other day and took her along to Cockenzie house which has a big garden she can play in and the main house hosts lots of interesting activities for the local community. We watched a local craft group working on a large patchwork quilt.
I can’t go anywhere without a little treat and was pleased to see the cafe were totally clued up on special diets and cross contamination. I was offered a choice of dairy free milk with my coffee – soya and almond and two cakes which were suitable for me.
I chatted to the lady working in the cafe and was happy to hear they also had gluten free bread meaning there was a large amount of items I could happily eat off the menu for breakfast and lunch. I’ll definitely be wandering along for a peaceful Sunday morning breakfast soon as it is about 15 minutes walk from my house.
Back to today’s recipe – I love a good noodle dish, they are usually quick to put together and taste amazing. This one has an easy sauce you can whisk together in 5 minutes served with vegetables, rice noodles and prawns. Perfect for a quick week night dinner.
Enjoy!
